A change in PDM reaches Netsis within minutes

An integration that automatically moves item masters, product trees and revisions from PDM to Netsis and notifies people when a code does not match; followed by task and quality-control tracking on the shop floor.

Before

For every part created or revised in PDM, the item master and bill of materials were opened and updated in Netsis by hand. As revisions became more frequent the workload grew, and the BOM in the ERP could fall behind the design.

A raw-material code skipped or a wrong quantity in manual transfer was only noticed when production was being planned.

What we built

Automatic readingThe integration scans PDM for new and changed records every minute; a document already processed is not processed again.
Item master and BOMThe item master, its extra fields and the product tree (raw material, quantity, operation) are written to Netsis; the revision number is tracked.
Unmatched code alertsIf a raw-material code from PDM does not exist in Netsis, the record is not silently skipped; the team is emailed and asked to complete it by hand.
Production trackingProduction tasks are then opened from Netsis work orders, with machine and operator assignment, sample-based quality control and progress tracking.

After

A design change now reaches the ERP within minutes and without re-typing. BOMs lagging behind the design and errors in hand-made records have largely disappeared.

The rare cases that cannot be transferred automatically are not lost; they land with the right person as a notification.
